Topic 7
Topic 7 focused on collaboration and team work is it an essential and important part of our final assignment for this unit. I am a boxer and not much team work, if any is involved during a fight, however; behind every boxer is a solid team. I am going to relate my personal experiences as a fighter to this topic.
Having won the WA state title and a finalist at the golden gloves, I can assure you no such achievement could have been achieved without the help of my coach, or as referenced to in the lecture, the leader of the team and my training partners. The team stuck together during the training camp. We trained extensively for hours working on our weakness and turning them into strengths. Helping each other push through the workouts and very training session . The classes were seen as our lecture where we learned about new boxing techniques and skills. Sparring is considered our tutorial, where we worked on the techniques that were taught to us during the class/lecture. Our morning runs and bag rounds was our homework. If a training partner was falling behind the team picked him up. Everyone was expected to take on the responsibility for their own training, show up for practice, sparring, conditioning and classes. If one failed to put in the effort in their training, they had to suffer the consequences of possibly losing the fight and live with the guilt of not putting in the effort, in other words the fight was our evaluation and assessment.
Any project involves a team effort and task 3 is no different. I shall treat the final assignment in similar fashion as I would do in preparation for a fight. “A team is like a pile of sticks. Individually each stick can be easily broken however when they are tied together they are unbreakable,” the wise words of my grandmother. :) (The team)
